    Ultramarine blue in the upper left and lower right: Represents the Dominican sky and divine protection over the nation.


    Vermilion red in the lower left and upper right quadrants: Symbolizes the blood shed by the heroes who fought for the country's independence.


    White in the cross that unites the quadrants: Represents peace, unity, and purity of the Dominican people.
